VibeCombos Browser Extension

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 30, 2026 · Applies to the VibeCombos browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) · ← vibecombos.com

Short version: the extension works entirely offline. It does not collect, transmit, or sell any data — not analytics, not identifiers, nothing. Your favorites, saved bios and searches stay in your browser's local storage and are removed when you uninstall the extension.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy covers only the VibeCombos browser extension distributed through the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons and Firefox Add-ons (AMO). It does not cover the vibecombos.com website, which is described by its own policy at vibecombos.com/privacy.html. The extension and the website do not share data about you.

2. What the extension does and does not collect

We collect nothing. The extension makes no network requests after installation: no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, no remote content. It requests no access to any website ("host permissions").

The extension contains no third-party services, SDKs, trackers or advertising of any kind.

3. What stays on your device

To remember your preferences between uses, the extension saves the following in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device and is not readable by vibecombos.com or anyone else:

ItemPurpose
Favorite glyphsThe emoji, symbols and kaomoji you starred
Recent searchesYour last 8 search queries, shown as one-tap chips
Saved biosUp to 12 bios you explicitly saved
Current draftThe bio text, display name and platform you last edited
Last used tabWhether you last used Search or Bio Studio

4. Permissions

The extension requests exactly two permissions, and both exist only so the features you see can work:

Storage — keeps the items listed in section 3 on your device. Context menus — adds the right-click option "Search VibeCombos for …" when you select text on a page. No other permissions are requested, now or in updates.

5. Accounts and personal information

The extension has no accounts, no login and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email address, payment details or any other personal information through the extension itself. It can be used by anyone; because no data is collected, no personal data is collected from anyone, including children.

6. Deleting your data

You can remove everything at any time, two ways:

Uninstall the extension — your browser deletes all extension storage automatically. Clear extension data — in the extension's browser settings page, choose "Clear" / "Clear data" (or clear the in-popup saved items: the "clear" chip for recent searches and the × on saved bios).

7. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the extension ever changes what it stores or requests, we will update this page and the version's store listing before that version ships. Material additions — such as any network permission — would be clearly flagged in the store release notes. The effective date above changes only when the content does.

8. Contact

Questions, data requests or complaints about the extension:

This policy is provided for general information about the extension's data practices and is not legal advice. It describes actual, current behavior of the software; nothing here promises features or protections that do not exist.
